Gilead Sciences is looking for an Associate Director, Commercial Planning to lead a team responsible for executing Supply Chain strategy. In this role, you will develop and implement policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage key supplier relationships, contributing to our mission of creating a healthier world.

What You'll Do

Provide leadership, direction, and management of a team to support execution of the Supply Chain strategy.
Supervise, train, guide, and manage the performance of department personnel.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for Supply Chain activities, ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
Develop and implement strategies and goals for specific products or projects.
Create and communicate supplier, subcontractor, and vendor agreements and opportunities to the organization.
Implement and maintain material and production control systems to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials.
Serve as a liaison between the company and governmental or audit agencies as required.
Review and implement changes to controlled documents and may author sections of regulatory documents.
Negotiate large contracts, monitor cost and schedules, and drive cost savings through direct negotiation.
Execute supplier agreements in conjunction with Legal and internal clients.
Conduct formal business reviews with key suppliers to discuss performance and manage against contract goals.
May manage outsourced manufacturing activities.
Compile market and competitor information to stay informed.
May coordinate multiple production schedules.

What We're Looking For

10+ years relevant experience in a related field and a BS or BA; OR 8+ years of relevant experience and a MA/MBA.
Able to develop solutions to a wide range of complex problems, requiring regular ingenuity and innovation.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
Good organizational and time management skills, including knowledge of basic project management tools.
Ability to interact effectively with senior management.
In-depth understanding of relevant principles, concepts, practices, and standards within the industry.
Solid working knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance, including pharmaceutical GMPs and ICH Q7A.
Able to apply organizational policies and interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to department procedures.
Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the financial aspects of Supply Chain operations.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and proficiency across multiple practices within the Supply Chain department.

Nice to Have

Experience in pharmaceutical operations or a cGMP environment.
Familiarity with the technologies, strengths, and weaknesses of fine chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide.
Experience purchasing custom chemicals, planning pharmaceutical development activities, and managing third-party synthesis of intermediates or Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.

Compensation Range: $165,495.00 - $214,170.00
