The University of Chicago is hiring an Associate Director, Alumni and Volunteer Experience to build and strengthen engagement with undergraduate alumni communities. This inaugural role takes an entrepreneurial approach to developing strategic experiences for diverse alumni groups through College affiliations like residential houses, student organizations, and athletics.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement strategic engagement plans for various College affiliations with specific, measurable goals.
- Identify, create, and execute opportunities for meaningful alumni engagement to strengthen connections.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in planning and executing strategic experiences, including Homecoming and Alumni Weekend programming.
- Partner with colleagues across the University and the College to increase cross-campus collaboration on engagement strategies.
- Build a culture of philanthropy across alumni communities, supporting divisional qualification, cultivation, and solicitation strategies.
- Continually evaluate, assess, and report on College affiliation alumni engagement strategies for improvement.
- Identify and integrate strategies for increasing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across programs.
- Seek opportunities for professional development to enhance job performance.
- Assist in leading and coordinating the planning, organization, and management of events, programs, and services.
- Measure, track, and report participation and success of initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- College or university degree in a related field.
- Knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum five years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales, or a similar field.
- Minimum one year of experience developing and monitoring budgets.
- Strong commitment to customer service.

Team & Environment
This role is a foundational member of a new team focused on the undergraduate alumni experience, reporting to the Executive Director, Alumni and Volunteer Experience.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $76,500.00 - $90,000.00

This is a hybrid position based at 5235 South Harper Court, Hyde Park, Chicago, IL.
