Revolution Medicines seeks an Associate Director, Accounting to lead accounting operations for our European legal entities from our Basel, Switzerland location. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements. Partnering with global finance leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll support business growth and drive process excellence while upholding high standards of financial integrity.
What You'll Do
- Oversee accounting operations for European entities, including the monthly GL close and financial reporting.
- Lead the European monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review monthly European payroll and related liabilities, preparing or reviewing associated accounting entries.
- Prepare monthly entries for cash, accounts receivable, revenue, and gross-to-net deductions using data from the European third-party logistics provider.
- Assist with the EU intercompany and transfer pricing structure, ensuring timely invoice generation, payment, and accurate ledger recording.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, and statutory reporting requirements across Europe.
- Manage statutory accounts, audits, and filings in multiple jurisdictions.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, SOX compliance, and accounting policies.
- Partner with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and external advisors on complex accounting matters.
- Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members across the region.
- Support business initiatives such as entity setup and system implementations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 11 years of progressive accounting experience, including multinational or regional scope.
- Minimum of 5 years in the global biopharmaceutical industry, with proven success scaling finance operations across Europe.
- 3–5+ years of people management experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and European statutory reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems in a multi-entity environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex close processes across multiple countries.
- Hands-on experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Fluency in English required.
- Strong project management and change management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and handle simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior attention to detail and a commitment to timely, accurate work.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across organizations and utilize resources effectively.
Nice to Have
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Additional European languages a plus.
