This full-time position supports technology design consulting efforts during the design phase of projects. Working under the guidance of senior consultants, the Associate Consultant executes assigned tasks, maintains accurate documentation, and helps ensure project alignment across disciplines. The role emphasizes clear communication, attention to detail, and adherence to established workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned deliverables in coordination with senior team members to support on-time project execution.
- Incorporate project requirements, decisions, and dependencies into technical documentation and design outputs.
- Prepare materials for meetings, including updates, reports, and supporting documentation as directed.
- Identify and escalate inconsistencies or gaps in project information for resolution.
- Develop and maintain project documentation such as design narratives, specifications, and program reports.
- Support technical research in audiovisual, telecom, and acoustics systems, contributing to design accuracy.
- Coordinate AV and low-voltage system requirements with cross-discipline teams.
- Participate in design and QA reviews by preparing materials, recording feedback, and updating deliverables.
- Assist with site observations, documenting conditions and supporting follow-up reporting.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting lessons learned and technical insights.
- Follow established consulting processes and identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
- Use AI tools responsibly, with awareness of data privacy and security best practices.
Qualifications
A two-year or higher technical degree is required, with a preference for a four-year degree in a relevant field. Candidates should have one to two years of experience in building design or engineering, particularly in electrical, mechanical, or low-voltage systems. Familiarity with AV technologies, video collaboration, and digital signage is expected. Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and AI tools is essential. Strong written communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are critical.
AVIXA CTS certification is preferred or must be obtained within the first year. Knowledge of AV signal management, control systems, and data networking is advantageous. Candidates must be comfortable with remote work and available for up to 25% travel, including domestic and occasional international trips.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position with primary remote work and periodic travel to project sites and meetings. The role requires a reliable workspace suitable for audio and video communication. Travel may include locations across major U.S. cities and international destinations.
