About the Role

Standard Chartered is looking for an Associate to join our BBD Non-Flow Sales team focused on the AME region. Based in Dubai, you will be pivotal in fostering deep engagement with Financial Institution clients, primarily banks, across key markets including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Southern Africa. Your role centers on building and sustaining strategic relationships tailored to our Non-Flow product offerings.

What You'll Do

  • Originate and execute Structured Credit and Financing Business, including vanilla flow repo transactions.
  • Distribute bids on special collateral, news, and research in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Process trade enquiries promptly and tactfully uncover any patterns or cycles in these enquiries.
  • Build structured credit and financing solutions on both the Islamic and conventional fronts.
  • Develop our business in line with internal and external requirements.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model appropriate to your role.
  • Deliver team and individual budgets for Non-Flow Credit Sales.
  • Deliver the Bank’s Non-Flow Credit Business across the MENAP institutional client base.
  • Actively engage with Credit Structuring and Trading teams to facilitate optimum coverage and revenue targets.
  • Adhere to compliance policies and all processes governing the FM Sales role.
  • Engage with clients and execute trades in line with Standard Chartered’s policies, including Best Execution and Order Handling.
  • Ensure appropriate frameworks and operational infrastructures are in place for efficient, compliant business processes.

What We're Looking For

  • A strong understanding of the financial institutions' landscape within the Middle East, Africa, and MENAP regions.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Expertise in Structured Credit products, asset and liability financing structures, flow repo transactions, and both conventional and Islamic finance solutions.
  • Skill in identifying opportunities across product lines to deliver integrated solutions addressing client needs.
  • Deep understanding of credit risk, market risk aspects including XVA, and the regulatory capital impacts on financing transactions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing sales cycles, executing transactions, and meeting revenue targets.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial services regulation affecting non-flow credit products in key markets.
  • Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Team & Environment

You will be a key member of the sales team, collaborating closely with Flow Repo and Structured Credit desks.
