Walkers is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its Walkers Professional Services (WPS) team, which provides corporate, fiduciary, and regulatory services. In this role, you will assist with multiple client-facing service lines, managing critical filing deadlines and the daily delivery of services.
What You'll Do
- Assist with client service lines by preparing and filing Fund Annual Returns (FARs), Economic Substance Returns, Tax Resident forms, Holding company Annual Books of Accounts, and Economic Substance Notifications.
- Manage the day-to-day service delivery, including tracking, reporting, planning, execution, and coordinating the timing of all deliverables.
- Correspond with clients to obtain information required for filings and other service deliverables.
- Prepare, oversee, and review filings and deliverables prepared by junior team members, providing on-the-job support and delegating tasks.
- Assist with resolving technical queries to ensure a consistent approach across all clients.
- Liaise with attorneys, auditors, and other relevant parties regarding regulatory filings, providing meaningful updates and responding to queries.
- Assist with ensuring timely billing for services rendered.
- Help implement service line procedures, process documentation, and changes.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures while actively contributing to process improvements.
- Stay current with legislation and regulatory developments in the Cayman Islands and assist in updating internal policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- An internationally recognized accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
- Prior fund audit or reporting experience.
- Experience liaising with government authorities such as the Department for International Tax Cooperation (DITC) and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).
- Strong knowledge of CIMA FAR regulatory reporting requirements, the Private and Mutual Funds Acts, and Regulations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to analyze financial statements.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines, show attention to detail, and plan and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work independently to review and sign off on a high volume of filings within a limited timeframe.
- Ability to work in a team, manage self and others, and foster a spirit of teamwork and excellence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A demonstrably client-centric approach with a verifiable track record of delivering high-level service.
- Strong organizational skills and an enthusiastic attitude to learn and enhance skills.
Nice to Have
- General working knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
