Dallas Baptist University is seeking an Assistant to the Dean for the Carter School of Business. In this role, you will provide comprehensive organizational and administrative support to the Dean and Associate Deans, creating an efficient and effective office environment. The position is central to advancing the educational values and mission of a Christian liberal arts institution.
What You'll Do
- Manage the day-to-day operational and administrative activities of the Dean, including scheduling, prioritizing work, and ensuring timely responses.
- Organize meetings, contact participants, prepare documentation, coordinate logistics, and draft minutes.
- Oversee and manage the budgets for the School of Business and related departments.
- Issue purchase requisitions for supplies and equipment, and review requests for payments.
- Receive and greet all visitors in the School of Business.
- Manage and distribute the School of Business Faculty/Staff calendar.
- Plan and execute all School of Business events and celebrations.
- Provide the Dean with background information and supporting documents for appointments, meetings, and speaking engagements.
- Assist with onboarding new School of Business Faculty and Staff, including communicating hire approvals and maintaining faculty files.
- Ensure new employee workstations are prepared prior to their first day.
- Oversee textbook orders for every course under the School of Business.
- Draft and send critical communication to faculty, staff, and adjuncts.
- Manage communication and coordination of activities with the various boards in the School of Business.

- Strong working knowledge of basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Colleague.
- Thorough understanding of and commitment to the educational values of a Christian liberal arts institution.
- Ability to keep files and information pertaining to the School of Business confidential.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
