About the Role

Southern Management Companies is looking for an Assistant Property Manager to play a key role in supporting the overall operations of our community. In this dynamic position, you will assist the property manager in developing the team, maintaining compliance, and creating extraordinary experiences for customers and team members.

What You'll Do

  • Encourage and build positive relationships with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Create valuable experiences by providing high levels of customer service.
  • Assist in hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and managing the onsite team.
  • Ensure Southern Management policies, procedures, and internal quality control standards are upheld.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that cultivate a positive work culture aligned with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and community plans.
  • Assist in managing all day-to-day operations on-site.
  • Support all marketing and sales efforts.
  • Perform leasing, service coordination, administrative, bookkeeping, and collection duties as necessary.
  • Respond in emergency situations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Experience supporting day-to-day onsite operations such as leasing, bookkeeping, rent collections, lease renewals, rent increases, coordinating maintenance services, and managing community purchasing and orders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Yardi software products.

Team & Environment

You will assist the property manager and report directly to them, supporting the onsite team and operations.
