Allegheny Health Network is hiring an Assistant Lab Technologist for a full-time evening position at our Pittsburgh location. You will perform technical and support duties under medical technologist guidance, exercising decisive judgement in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform a variety of routine and complex clinical procedures using established criteria.
- Verify analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
- Operate, calibrate, check, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
- Recognize and communicate quality control problems to a certified medical technologist.
- Perform accurate and efficient test order entry to ensure proper testing and patient billing.
- Participate in learning modules to support the growth and development of the laboratory.
- Provide general support, including answering telephones, faxing reports, and reporting stat and critical value results.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in Pittsburgh.
