Goucher College is looking for an Assistant Director of Internships to provide leadership for engaging students in career planning and oversee the College’s academic internship programs. In this role, you will deliver direct student service through advising, presentations, and events.
What You'll Do
- Manage the operations of the academic internship program, approve internship agreements for credit, and assist with data collection and reporting.
- Develop strategies to promote internship programs and increase student participation.
- Guide students through self and career exploration and develop career plans through individual appointments, drop-in, and email advising.
- Develop and execute activities, group sessions, and events to help students connect academic interests with career plans.
- Engage students in networking by connecting them with alumni, mentors, employers, parents, and faculty/staff.
- Develop resources and conduct training for community partners to facilitate career conversations.
- Develop and deliver presentations to student classes and groups on career-related topics.
- Manage relationships and coordinate programs with campus and employer partners to develop new opportunities for students.
- Coordinate changes and edits to career education office resources, including the website, handouts, and slide decks.
- Collect, manage, and analyze data on student involvement in career programs to inform strategies and support student needs.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in counseling, student affairs, higher education, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in career services, academic advising, experiential learning, or a related field in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning and execution, group facilitation, and advising college students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with career services platforms, including Handshake and LinkedIn.
- Skilled at searching web-based sites to locate career information.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of constituents.
- Creative, innovative, comfortable with change, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to an evolving team.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Passion for student success and enthusiasm for advising students in a higher education setting.
Nice to Have

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $47,380.00-$55,741.00
