Grid One Solutions is hiring a Transmission Work Planner (Utility Forester) to manage vegetation along utility power lines. In this role, you will ensure the safety and reliability of the electrical grid by inspecting and documenting vegetation work while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.

What You'll Do

Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
Follow all AMS safety standards, including protocols for safe driving, wildfire prevention, and injury prevention.
Safely drive to work sites and hike rights-of-way for up to 10 miles per day.
Inspect and document all vegetation work, including pruning and removal, at customer properties.
Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized forestry software.
Use forestry computer systems for data entry and tracking.
Address customer concerns and complaints regarding vegetation work promptly.
Communicate effectively with leadership, auditors, clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.
Maintain positive public relations through professional conduct.
Participate in storm and emergency response duties as required.
Carry out additional duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management, and tree growth patterns.
Ability to hike or walk rights-of-way and drive for extended periods.
Knowledge of Utility Vegetation Management practices.
Experience with GIS software/technology, Microsoft Suite, and an iPhone.
Ability to work alone outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, and a keen attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to change.
All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check.
A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.

Nice to Have

ISA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
