Kodiak Gas Services is seeking an Area Manager to oversee the safe and efficient daily operation of compressor packages and rental equipment within a designated Area. This first-level management role involves leading a team of Technicians and Supervisors, ensuring high equipment availability, building customer relationships, and achieving strong financial results.
What You'll Do
- Provide guidance and leadership to Supervisors and Field Service Technicians.
- Hire, train, and develop the technical and supervisory team.
- Assess team performance and implement improvement plans.
- Perform and schedule routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
- Ensure a mechanical availability guaranty of 98%.
- Participate in HSE meetings and enforce safety standards.
- Collect, record, and approve operational data and service reports.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and movement.
- Maintain property, vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, presentable condition.
- Complete business reporting on Field team efficiency.
- Act as a subject matter expert on unit processes and procedures.
- Promote effective teamwork to maintain units.
- Ensure customer-specific needs are met during maintenance.
- Quickly report and resolve unit issues.
- Analyze customer feedback for process improvement opportunities.
- Communicate clearly and frequently with other Operations teams.
- Manage competing demands and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Work seamlessly across areas and regions.
- Report to the Regional Manager of Operations on key metrics.
- Manage the monthly oil sample program.
- Interact with the Sales team and attend customer meetings as needed.
- Ensure assigned office buildings are maintained and clean.
- Maintain environmental controls for waste, oil, filters, and scrap.
- Be responsible for the Area’s financial performance and understand financial reports.
- Perform additional tasks as delegated.
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- OEM, trade school, or comparable work experience in a related field.
- Ability to complete day-to-day responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Strong mechanical intuition and ability.
- Ability to comprehend OEM and technical manuals and programs.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles and cranes.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- A minimum of 4 years of gas compression experience in an operating position.
