WM is hiring an Area Automation Manager

About the Role

WM Logistics India Private Ltd is hiring an Area Automation Manager to oversee and manage automation systems and technologies across Missouri and surrounding states. This role blends technical expertise with strategic planning to ensure the effective operation and optimization of automated processes. You will serve as the primary local liaison between the company's Automation Group and site operations.

What You'll Do

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) level day-to-day support for all automated and electro-mechanical process control systems across multiple business lines.
  • Lead efforts to secure all automation technologies by overseeing policy compliance, managing incident responses, and promoting cybersecurity awareness.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of all operational technology (OT) assets, including SCADA systems, ensuring accurate inventory and maintenance planning.
  • Implement a roadmap for OT maturity, including technology assessments, gap analysis, and improvement plans.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging OT technologies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with IT and OT teams to ensure alignment and effective integration of systems.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive automation strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Support complex automated systems in new and existing facilities.
  • Provide an automation support interface with operations, compliance, information systems, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  • Train local operators and managers on the proper operation of their equipment and SCADA systems.
  • Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of external contractors supporting automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with operations teams to identify automation opportunities, assess feasibility, and prioritize projects.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessments for automation projects.

What We're Looking For

  • A High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience with industrial electrical controls, automation, control systems, instrumentation, and process design.
  • Candidate must live near a major airport in Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky, or Tennessee.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in a relevant discipline.
  • ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST).
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP).

  • Salary range: $118,000 - $148,000
