This field-based role, located in Belfast and covering Lisburn and nearby areas, offers a structured pathway to becoming a certified HVAC Service Technician. As an Apprentice HVAC Engineer, you’ll receive on-the-job training and academic support to build a solid foundation in climate control and refrigeration systems.
What You’ll Do
- Train under experienced technicians while working on water chillers, heat pumps, and air handling units
- Attend South Eastern Regional College (SERC) in Lisburn for Level 3 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning studies
- Support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Gain hands-on experience with electrical control panels, hydronic systems, and digital controls
- Learn about Building Management Systems (BMS) and modern control technologies
- Participate in customer site visits and assist with technical issue resolution
What We’re Looking For
You should have at least a Grade C/4 in GCSE English, Maths, Science, and ICT, or hold a full UK engineering-related driving licence. Strong written communication, problem-solving ability, and a genuine interest in engineering and low-carbon heating solutions are essential. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn are key.
