CHS Inc. is hiring an Applicator/Operations Specialist

This role supports both crop application and grain operations within a cooperative agricultural setting. You’ll operate machinery such as high clearance sprayers, floaters, loaders, and forklifts to apply fertilizers and crop protection products, ensuring accurate delivery and safe handling of agricultural inputs. Fieldwork is performed independently, with attention to detail and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply crop nutrients and protection chemicals using specialized equipment, following label guidelines and seasonal demands.
  • Engage directly with customers to explain application methods, product benefits, and ongoing support options.
  • Support sales and logistics teams by verifying orders, loading and unloading bulk or packaged materials from railcars and trucks, and fulfilling deliveries.
  • Perform equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs using mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge.
  • Assist in warehouse operations, including operating loaders and conveyors, and maintaining facility grounds.
  • Keep accurate records and assist with inventory, safety checks, and operational documentation.

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least one year of experience in agriculture, operations, or chemical application. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English is required, along with the physical capacity to lift up to 75 pounds. Must meet DOT and company safety standards and minimum age requirements.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, CDL with hazmat endorsement (or willingness to obtain), and prior experience with agricultural machinery such as tractors, track mobiles, and sprayer systems. Forklift certification and a background in farming or chemical application are also valued.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position based in Englevale, ND, with seasonal shifts that may require extended hours during peak periods. The work setting emphasizes safety, teamwork, and community impact, aligned with cooperative principles.
