3M is looking for an Application Engineer to join our Consumer Healthcare business within the Consumer Business Group. Based in Sumare, Brazil, you will support application engineering and new product introduction efforts across the Latin American region, enabling sales and marketing success.

What You'll Do

Manage Application Engineering activities, including mapping key processes, identifying gaps and solutions using 3M technologies, and conducting competitive analysis.
Contribute insights and lead product field evaluations as a team member in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Develop and deliver customer training, as well as internal and external training for sales and marketing organizations.
Create easy-to-understand demo tools for sales reps and customers to show 3M product benefits and differentiation.
Work with customers domestically and internationally for training and at trade shows.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
Minimum of three (3) years combined experience working in a laboratory and/or technical service/application engineering environment.
Successful record of global interaction, excellent technical presentation skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Nice to Have

Medical Device experience.
Strong skills in oral and written communications, and complex problem identification and solution development.
Ability to work well in a team environment and handle changing project priorities.
Experience in nonwoven technologies and/or experience in tapes and adhesives technologies.
Experience with New Product Development (NPI) and/or engineering work in conjunction with customers and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Minitab or a similar Statistical Analysis tool.
A successful track record of working with all levels within an organization, as well as external customer and supplier organizations.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
