Responsibilities
- Participate in the full range of anesthesiology services both in and out of the operating room and participate in the obstetric and general call schedules
- Support teaching and research goals within the department and in alignment with the new medical school curriculum
Requirements
- Accredited medical degree (or equivalent)
- Certificate of registration to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have fellowship in Anaesthesiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- American board certified anaesthesiologists eligible for registration via CPSO Pathway A
- Family physicians with a certificate of added competence in Family Practice Anaesthesia from the College of Family Physicians of Canada may also be considered
- License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of attendance, punctuality and accountability
- Models behaviour that aligns with Osler’s Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
Nice to Have
- Subspecialty fellowship training is an asset but not a requirement
- Experience in clinical teaching or clinical research is an asset
