Prisma Health is hiring an Ambulatory Coder, Professional Billing for a PRN, remote position. In this role, you will ensure accurate and compliant coding for multi-specialty medical practices, serving our communities as we work to transform healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Validate and assign CPT, ICD-10, Modifiers, and HCPCS codes based on medical record documentation.
- Adhere to all coding and compliance guidelines for inpatient, outpatient, and physician office/clinic settings.
- Resolve all assigned pre-billing edits.
- Communicate billing-related issues and participate in meetings to improve the overall billing process.
- Provide feedback to providers to clarify and resolve coding concerns.
- Assist in identifying areas that need additional training.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, equivalent, or post-high school diploma / highest degree earned.
- Two (2) years of professional coding experience.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree.
Technical Stack
- Appropriate coding software and coding resources.
- Office equipment (fax/copier).
Team & Environment
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
