National General Holdings Corp., a member of the Allstate family of companies, is hiring an Allstate Dealer Services (ADS) Team Lead. In this role, you will manage and lead a mechanical claims adjusting unit responsible for adjudicating Vehicle Service Contract (VSC), GAP, and Ancillary claims. Your leadership ensures accurate, consistent decisions aligned with contract language and company guidelines, while driving loss cost control and exceptional service.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily leadership and technical guidance to a team of Claims Adjusters handling complex automotive repair claims.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of contract coverage, labor time validation, parts pricing verification, and proper claim adjudication.
- Coach adjusters on mechanical diagnostics, repair logic, cause of failure analysis, and early claim indicators.
- Monitor production, call performance, pending inventory, cycle time, and severity trends; communicate results and action plans to leadership.
- Drive loss cost control through labor guide validation (Mitchell, AllData, Motors), MSRP validation, and parts sourcing oversight.
- Review and authorize high-dollar and complex claims; escalate to senior authority when required.
- Lead training initiatives for new and tenured adjusters to improve quality, consistency, and technical decision-making.
- Resolve escalations from repair facilities, agents, customers, TPAs, and strategic partners with professionalism and authority.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, audit standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation expectations.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for system functionality and claims handling within your assigned Area of Responsibility.
- Review TPA-submitted claims for accuracy, proper coverage application, and cost control prior to authorization.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of claims adjusting experience, preferably in Vehicle Service Contracts or automotive warranty.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair systems and mechanical diagnostics.
- Ability to analyze severity trends and coach toward improved loss cost control.
- Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven mentoring and coaching ability.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and claims management systems.
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes and regulatory requirements.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience.
- Automotive mechanical background strongly preferred (e.g., prior technician, service advisor, shop foreman, or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated ability to interpret repair estimates, diagnostic procedures, and OEM repair standards.
- Experience utilizing automotive labor guides (Mitchell, AllData, Motors, ProDemand).
