UnitedHealth Group / Optum seeks an AI/ML Engineer to join our digital consumer transformation. You will design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models using GenAI technologies to build customer-facing solutions and automate internal processes.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models using GenAI technologies like LLMs, RAG, and Agentic AI
- Utilize agentic AI frameworks such as Claude Agents SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Langchain to build customer-facing solutions
- Automate internal processes with advanced AI systems
- Deploy AI/ML solutions in production public cloud environments, including AWS, GCP, and Azure
- Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and performance optimization of Agentic AI systems
- Containerize AI/ML projects and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to preprocess, analyze, and interpret large-scale datasets
- Study emerging trends and advancements in generative AI and ML technologies, applying learnings to production systems
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience working on a consumer-facing or opensource project
- Professional experience working on a Python or Typescript codebase

You will be part of the Optum Technology Digital team and Consumer Engineering team within the Chief Digital Office (CDO).
