Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic roadmap for incorporating AI and advanced robotics into industrial operations.
- Pinpoint high-value applications in quality, productivity, safety, and cost reduction.
- Work with headquarters and technology partners to explore and test new solutions.
- Lead initiatives involving advanced and collaborative robotics, including cobots, autonomous mobile robots, and automated assistants.
- Implement AI-based vision systems for automated quality inspection.
- Apply machine learning for predictive maintenance and process optimization.
- Integrate AI solutions into current production environments.
- Convert prototypes and proofs of concept into production-ready, scalable solutions.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering and Operations teams in adopting these technologies.
- Guarantee the reliability, safety, and return on investment of deployed solutions.
- Develop internal expertise in AI and robotics.
- Establish standards, guidelines, and best practices for AI and robotics use.
- Collaborate with IT and data teams on infrastructure and data management.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, AI, or related field).
- 5–10 years of experience in advanced industrial automation, AI/machine learning projects in manufacturing and robotics, ideally including automated assistants or mobile robotics.
- Proficiency in robot programming (e.g., ROS, Python, C++).
- Expertise in AI/ML, including predictive models, computer vision, and deep learning.
- Knowledge of industrial automation systems (e.g., PLC, MES, IoT).
- Understanding of smart factory and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Strategic vision, strong execution skills, and structured problem-solving ability.
- Ability to influence industrial stakeholders with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.
Nice to Have
- PhD or specialized Master’s degree in AI or Robotics preferred.
- Experience with robots and advanced autonomous systems.
- Background in automotive or manufacturing.
- Experience in industrial deployment, translating prototypes and proofs of concept into scalable solutions.
