Guidehouse Managed Services LLC is hiring a Managing Consultant to focus on national healthcare reform and its impact on state Medicaid, aging services, public health, and human services programs. In this role, you will assist state agencies in strategic planning and program implementation for an evolving healthcare landscape.
What You'll Do
- Assist state agencies (Medicaid, Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, State Units on Aging, Social/Human Services) in developing strategic plans for statewide healthcare reform implementation.
- Understand the Older Americans Act, its provider network, services, and key improvement opportunities.
- Understand Medicaid eligibility requirements, processes, and systems.
- Apply knowledge of service delivery gaps and improvements for older Americans to support an evolving, strained service network.
- Assist clients in assessing business and technical requirements for program initiatives.
- Research and stay abreast of all states’ healthcare transformation efforts.
- Perform data and qualitative research activities to address state research needs.
- Document and communicate findings and support development of recommendations and follow-up steps.
- Identify and collaborate with a broad range of healthcare stakeholders.
- Participate in analysis of client-identified issues or problems.
- Manage projects and engagements of various sizes and durations.
- Supervise and support the development of staff.
- Effectively manage client interaction and manage client expectations.
- Provide subject matter expertise, as requested and appropriate.
- Help develop business with new clients, as requested.
- Participate in non-client related firm-building activities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5+ years of previous work experience.
- Must have experience in the Healthcare Industry.
- Strong attention to detail and deliverable preparation.
- Strong interest in state health agencies and healthcare reform (Medicaid, public health, health insurance, health reform organizations).
- Ability to travel to meet client needs as required.
Nice to Have
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (healthcare, business or data analytics/computer science) OR a Master’s degree in health policy and administration, public policy, public health, social service administration OR equivalent.
- A strategic problem solver.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage task execution and manage discreet task/project/initiative functions.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access as well as the ability to conduct research through use of the internet and other information sources.
- The ability to work overtime as necessary.
- Assure high-quality client work product.
