AECOM is looking for an Associate Director/Principal Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a range of innovative and technically challenging overhead transmission line projects up to 400kV. You will play a key part in significant UK projects, including the National Grid's Great Grid Partnership.
What You'll Do
- Take responsibility for assigned project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement for overhead line works.
- Provide expert technical evaluations and problem-solving solutions to team members.
- Represent AECOM in client meetings and provide technical expertise for bids and proposals.
- Contribute to written proposals outlining project timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
- Deliver technical engineering expertise for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
- Undertake feasibility studies, perform conductor thermal ratings, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct studies to identify and present technically preferred solutions to the client.
- Check and review engineering deliverables including complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.
- Perform internal reviews and quality checks of engineering drawings and calculations.
- Ensure all work meets safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
- Adhere to AECOM and client design management processes and lead project and client meetings as needed.
- Represent AECOM with professionalism and integrity, adhering to ethical standards.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Project experience delivering for transmission system operators.
- Demonstrated experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognised electrical engineering institution.
- LCDAE & CDAE certifications.
