Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center is seeking an Adult Medicine Physician with a California medical license to join our team in a telehealth role. You will be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality, and culturally sensitive care to our diverse community.
What You'll Do
- Perform comprehensive health assessments, including history and physical exams, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medication, and evaluate psychosocial factors.
- Manage common acute and chronic illnesses and initiate life-saving procedures in emergency situations.
- Provide clinical oversight for NP/PA trainees, NP residents, and/or new providers, and direct the work of medical assistants and other non-professional staff.
- Conduct in-service training for staff on necessary medical topics.
- Maintain electronic health records with timely documentation, accurate coding, and chart sign-offs.
- Assist in internal quality control audits to uphold standards of quality care.
- Discuss or refer complex and high-priority patient cases.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and professional growth.
- Attend required internal and external meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Travel to and from service sites as needed.
- Assist in educating patients and the community on preventive healthcare.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Must reside within the State of California.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in your designated specialty field of practice.
- Current medical license to practice in California, including a DEA license and CPR certification.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed our Service Excellence Standards.
- Willingness and ability to work periodic evenings and/or weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel to other health center sites or locations to perform duties or attend meetings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including creativity, resourcefulness, timeliness, and technical knowledge.
- Sensitivity to the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse patient and employee populations.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize computer technology and adapt to evolving technological requirements.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience providing medical care within a community health setting.
- Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish.

Team & Environment
You will work within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or designee. We operate in a collaborative effort across all departments to remove barriers to accessing healthcare.

Work Mode
This is a telehealth position, but you must reside within the State of California and be willing to travel to other TVHC sites or locations as needed.
