Trisura is hiring an Associate Actuary – Reserving to support our reserving activities. Reporting to the Senior Reserving Director, you will be responsible for reserve reviews, stakeholder communication, and process improvement projects within a growth-oriented company.
What You'll Do
- Perform reserve reviews under the direction of the Senior Reserving Director and prepare related summaries, documentations, and reports
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including Accounting, Claims, Reinsurance and Underwriting teams to develop understanding of program business trends and emerging claims, and to provide actuarial insights
- Provide support in the preparation of IFRS and statutory reporting, including reserves discounting and risk adjustment, annual statement, Schedule P and quarter close process
- Perform data preparation and reconciliation for quarterly reserve analysis
- Support in enhancements of reserving tools, data transformation and process efficiency
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Property & Casualty reserving
- ACAS designation
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related discipline
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience with programming languages including SQL and VBA
Nice to Have
- CAS Exam 5 strongly preferred
- Experience in program business, E&S market, or IFRS 17 a plus
- Experience with ResQ or other reserving software preferred
