Hannover Re is hiring an Actuary - Insurance Linked Securities to design and implement solutions that transfer reinsurance risks to the capital market. You will develop securitizations and fronting solutions, working closely with brokers, lawyers, and banks to deliver optimal outcomes for our customers.
What You'll Do
- Examine Cat-Bond submissions to assess risks and identify special features, such as those for wind or earthquake exposures.
- Structure your analyses and support the team in underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues from underwriting, actuarial, risk management, and legal departments, as well as external partners, ensuring smooth process execution.
- With growing experience, support projects to transfer (re)insurance risks into catastrophe bonds, contribute to contract documents, and assist our investors and reinsurance partners.
What We're Looking For
- A successfully completed scientific degree in (Business) Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, Statistics, or a comparable field.
- English at negotiation level (C1/C2) and German at conversational level (at least B2) combined with strong communication skills.
- The ability to make well-founded decisions, seek exchange on new topics, and actively solicit advice.
- Skill in structuring complex data and models clearly, translating them into actionable recommendations, with a pronounced affinity for numbers and attention to detail.
- A collaborative mindset, enjoying teamwork, sharing knowledge, and building trusting relationships with internal and external partners.
Nice to Have
- Initial practical experience in actuarial, risk management, insurance, or banking, gained through internships, working student roles, or early professional experience.
