Point32Health is hiring an Actuarial Analyst II to independently conduct analysis and data development for a broad range of financial and actuarial functions. You will focus on forecasting and budgeting for our Commercial lines of business, working closely with one or more THP departments.
What You'll Do
- Perform analytic project work assigned by your manager with minimal supervision.
- Develop analytic project plans to meet defined objectives.
- Facilitate planning and review sessions.
- Use THP data systems and query tools to complete work projects, developing new code and tools as needed.
- Examine and interpret results in the context of specific business questions.
- Identify new questions or unforeseen data complexities arising from results and take steps to address them.
- Develop criteria to validate results against prior expectations.
- Investigate unusual results and offer explanations.
- Assist colleagues and more junior staff with validation and checking activities.
- Package results to demonstrate how the analysis meets project objectives.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education/training.
- 2-4 exams passed toward actuarial certification.
- 2+ years of responsible healthcare actuarial or analytic experience.
- Demonstrated experience in analytic work.
- Proficiency with personal computers, relational databases, statistical packages, and spreadsheet or database applications.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate planning and review sessions.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
- Ability to implement Actuarial department standards and processes.
- Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member.
