The Acoustic Engineer will work within the HVDC business unit in Sweden, contributing to sustainable energy by analyzing noise in high-voltage, high-power transmission systems. The role includes simulation, field measurements, and collaboration across disciplines in a diverse, international setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess acoustic performance using calculations, modeling, and 3D simulations of noise dispersion
- Conduct on-site measurements to validate models and ensure compliance with specifications
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary context involving mechanical, climate, and electrical factors, while considering cost and quality
- Translate analytical findings into practical design recommendations in coordination with equipment and civil construction leads
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to maintain long-term competitiveness
- Analyze requirements and data to determine optimal technical and financial approaches
- Provide acoustic expertise and support to internal business units
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree in acoustics or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Positive, solution-focused mindset with strong teamwork skills
- Willingness to assume responsibility and actively learn
- Broad interest in technological fields
- Practical judgment and understanding of real-world implementation
Nice to Have
- Experience with soundPLAN or comparable acoustic modeling tools
- Strong interest in or knowledge of mechanical, climate, and electrical systems
- Prior exposure to mechanics, climate, or electrical engineering domains
- Both recent graduates and professionals with extensive experience are welcome
