MyFlorida's Department of Management Services is hiring an OPS Accounting Services Analyst D for its Financial Reporting Bureau. In this professional role, you will support the Chief Financial Officer’s duties of accounting for state funds by performing accounting, auditing, and budgeting work. You will contribute to statewide program administration and the efficient achievement of operating objectives.
What You'll Do
- Assist the Administrator to efficiently and effectively achieve all operating objectives.
- Support the Administrator in accomplishing the Chief Financial Officer’s constitutional and statutory duties of accounting for state funds.
- Perform duties linked to established procedures, including using, complying with, and improving internal controls and updating procedures.
What We're Looking For
- A High School diploma or its equivalent.
- Knowledge of the State of Florida’s budget process.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to use logic and analysis to identify strengths or weaknesses.
- Ability to research and interpret laws and rules.
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop recommendations, solve problems, and document workflow.
- Ability to organize data into a logical format for reports and documents.
- Ability to conduct fact-finding research.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
Nice to Have
- Two (2) or more years of professional experience with the State of Florida performing accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- One (1) or more years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
- One (1) or more years of experience with preparing or reviewing Financial Statements.
- Experience working with Governmental accounting records.
- Experience with data reconciliation.
- Experience analyzing information in a structured format, utilizing traditional and/or computer-based tools for data analysis.
- Experience participating in a team to complete a project.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
