Indiana Department of Correction / Madison State Hospital was looking for an Accounting Intern

The Indiana Department of Correction is hiring a Seasonal Accounting Intern. In this role, you will support the accounting team with a primary focus on the Indiana State Fair balancing process and perform various accounting functions at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the Indiana State Fair balancing process for the accounting team during the fair dates of August 7 - August 23.
  • Work on-site at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters, up to 10 hours per week before the fair begins, assisting the Senior Accounting Manager with projects.
  • Run weekly and monthly sales reports.
  • Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Process standard journal entries.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, majoring in Accounting.
  • Have completed at least two (2) years of college-level education credits.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be prepared to work weekends, early mornings, or late nights, especially August 7-23.
  • Must be able to work outside.
  • Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Team & Environment

You will be assisting the accounting team and Senior Accounting Manager, reporting directly to a Senior Accounting Manager.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Pay rate: $16.24 per hour.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position. Work will be performed at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters and the State Fair grounds.
