AkzoNobel is hiring an Accounting Assistant to join our team supporting Colombia and Central America. In this role, you will be responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting information. Your primary mission is to ensure account reconciliations align with the figures presented in the financial statements of each business unit, guaranteeing compliance with current regulations.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the accounting reconciliation process is planned according to established schedules to meet deliverables.
- Secure the closure of reconciliation items by executing a work schedule with the teams from each process to meet agreed deadlines.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the closure of reconciliation items to guarantee the implementation of established performance indicators for the process.
- Execute the reconciliation of bridge accounts for inventories, maintenance, freight, merchandise, fixed assets, and foreign currency balances in the accounts payable module and the AP vs. Accounting module, ensuring traceability.
- Generate reports related to accounts payable activity (revalidations, non-invoiced receipts), ensuring updated information on the processes.
What We're Looking For
- Technical degree or Associate's degree in Accounting, Cost Accounting, Finance, or related fields (a fundamental requirement is to have the degree/diploma in hand).
- Minimum of 1 year of stable experience in balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel.

- Knowledge of SAP (optional).
