Belmont Lavan Ltd is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the finance function across multiple group companies. This part-time, remote role requires strong bookkeeping experience and proficiency with Sage accounting software. You will maintain accurate financial records for several entities simultaneously, ensuring compliance and supporting year-end preparations in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple companies.
- Record and reconcile sales and purchase invoices.
- Process bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are up to date.
- Assist in preparing trial balances and support the preparation of management accounts.
- Help produce monthly financial reports and prepare year-end accounts for submission.
- Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, VAT returns, and payroll preparation.
- Use Sage accounting software for daily financial management, reporting, and transaction coding.
- Perform supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain documentation for audit purposes.
- Process staff expenses and ensure correct allocation of costs across companies.
- Track financial activity separately for each entity and organise digital records.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and advisors.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc accounting and reporting tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in bookkeeping.
- Strong experience with Sage accounting software.
