About the Role

Horizon Recovery is looking for an Accountant (Admin Assistance) to manage our day-to-day accounting functions while providing crucial administrative, HR, and construction coordination support. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the financial details while keeping daily operations organized and efficient.

What You'll Do

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and maintain the general ledger
  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions
  • Prepare financial statements including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Monitor budgets, track variances, and manage expense reporting
  • Support tax preparation, compliance activities, and financial audits
  • Prepare and manage client invoicing
  • Screen and manage emails, calendars, reminders, and scheduling
  • Maintain and organize the company Dropbox file system
  • Support general administrative tasks as assigned
  • Assist with new hire onboarding paperwork and maintain basic employee records
  • Track PTO and sick time
  • Process weekly payroll through ADP
  • Set up and maintain project folders and assist with basic construction documentation
  • Support job costing activities
  • Manage and track insurance requests
  • Assist with bid management and tracking

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping
  • Strong understanding of the general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations
  • Experience with payroll processing
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • A professional, discreet, and dependable work ethic

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting construction or trade-based businesses
  • Familiarity with job costing and project-based accounting
  • Experience in hybrid accounting and administrative roles
