Clarivate is looking for an Account Manager, Higher Education to join our Academia and Government sales team. In this role, you will lead and coordinate sales activity on the West Coast, utilizing your expertise and internal resources to meet and exceed sales targets and help our customers educate the world.
What You'll Do
- Own the assigned territory and individual account plan coordination, working closely with product specialists, trainers, and renewal teams to develop an overall plan to grow long-term revenue.
- Influence and motivate others in a matrixed sales organization to support and drive toward shared goals.
- Focus on new and renewal business as part of expanding Clarivate’s footprint within accounts; serve as the primary point of client engagement.
- Lead RFP coordination and development, seeking opportunities to unite multiple RFPs or current investments.
- Manage the full portfolio forecast for renewals and new business, including specialty products and content.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of products, especially in core content areas.
- Lead content demonstrations, engaging product specialists as needed for product-specific demos.
- Maintain awareness of all proposals and lead discussions with clients as the account plan warrants.
- Ensure the account plan is making progress and aligned with other objectives.
- Manage the overall health of the account by coordinating routine checkpoints, handling business reviews, and participating in roadmap discussions and client meetings.
- Ensure client satisfaction and resolution of issues, relying on product specialists and colleagues in customer service and technical support.
- Enter leads and new activity into SalesForce.com to ensure collaboration and full communication.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a direct field sales professional.
- Experience selling into ed tech or academia accounts.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling directly to libraries.
- Advanced degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and technical troubleshooting tools.
- Certifications pertinent to the sales profession.
- Previous experience with Salesforce or similar tools.

Team & Environment
You’ll be part of a matrixed sales organization within the Academia & Government (A&G) sales team. You’ll work with a wider network of sales and account-focused team members globally, including Product Sales, Customer Success, Customer Education, and Professional Services, reporting to the Director, Segment Sales.
Work Mode
This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing in Nevada, Oregon, Arizona, or Idaho.
