Checkr was looking for an Account Manager

Checkr is looking for an Account Manager to join its Mid-Market team. In this role, you will own a book of commercial customer accounts and be directly responsible for retaining and growing revenue through renewals and expansion. It is a high-volume, high-activity role managing a significant number of accounts simultaneously.

What You'll Do

  • Own revenue retention and growth by carrying a quota tied to gross revenue retention and net expansion for your book of business, executing timely renewals and identifying and closing expansion opportunities.
  • Drive a high-volume pipeline by maintaining rigorous Salesforce hygiene, accurate forecasting, and timely deal progression across dozens of active renewal and expansion opportunities.
  • Partner with Customer Success Managers in a paired model to translate customer health and engagement into commercial outcomes.
  • Negotiate on value, not price, by anchoring commercial conversations in the ROI and business value Checkr provides and building and presenting business cases that quantify value.
  • Surface customer and market intelligence by developing a frontline understanding of competitive dynamics, product gaps, and customer needs and communicating this feedback to Product and leadership.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of account management, customer success with a commercial component, or B2B SaaS sales experience managing renewals and/or expansion revenue.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume book of business across many accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong command of Salesforce or an equivalent CRM for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Experience negotiating commercial terms grounded in value and ROI.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams like Customer Success, Support, and Product to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build a business case, write a deal memo, and present to a customer executive.
  • An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action, including raising the bar, moving with urgency, staying resilient through ambiguity, and taking ownership.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in HR technology, background screening, identity verification, or compliance-adjacent industries.
  • Familiarity with consumption-based or usage-based pricing models.
  • Experience using Gong or similar conversation intelligence tools to inform deal strategy.
