Travelers is hiring an Account Executive/Underwriter - Professional Liability

Travelers is seeking an Account Executive/Underwriter for its Professional Liability line. In this role, you will analyze financial and business risk, build lasting relationships, and sell and negotiate with clients, agents, and brokers. You will be responsible for managing a book of business, underwriting accounts, and marketing Travelers' products.

What You'll Do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of your assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Execute business unit underwriting strategies to achieve profit and growth objectives.
• Cultivate internal relationships to identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster external relationships by regularly meeting in person with agents and brokers to market and sell products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute individual agency sales plans aligned with team objectives.

What We're Looking For

• Two years of experience in underwriting, product knowledge, financial analysis, or risk assessment.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three to five years of applicable underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of products, the regulatory environment, and local market conditions.
• Strong critical thinking skills for underwriting, marketing, identifying financial challenges, and analyzing information.
• Communication skills to successfully negotiate with agents and brokers.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Professional Liability team within the Bond & Specialty Insurance unit.

• Compensation range: $87,400.00 - $144,400.00.
