About the Role

Applause is seeking a Mid Market Account Executive to drive growth by selling our software to small and medium-sized businesses. You will own a portfolio, generate new business through proactive outreach, and ensure the success and expansion of existing clients.

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage a portfolio of accounts, identifying growth opportunities and expanding existing customer ARR.
  • Conduct outbound calls and emails to generate new business, managing the full sales cycle from initial contact to close.
  • Lead comprehensive discovery calls and deliver compelling product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with Sales Development Representatives and Marketing to follow up on leads for pest control, lawn care, and HVAC companies.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and industry events to network and generate leads, requiring travel around 2-4 times per quarter.
  • Provide consultative sales expertise to identify client needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive measurable value.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline and forecast accurately using Applause's CRM tools.
  • Work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of B2B software sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sales cycles, negotiate contracts, and close deals with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate value propositions and build trust with senior decision-makers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, with a willingness to take ownership and adapt.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the field services space (pest control, lawn care, HVAC, or other home services industries).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with sales tools like Hubspot, Apollo, or LinkedIn.
  • Experience selling to SMB technical service providers.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience.
  • A history of exceeding quota in a prospecting-focused role.
