Applause is seeking a Mid Market Account Executive to drive growth by selling our software to small and medium-sized businesses. You will own a portfolio, generate new business through proactive outreach, and ensure the success and expansion of existing clients.
What You'll Do
- Own and manage a portfolio of accounts, identifying growth opportunities and expanding existing customer ARR.
- Conduct outbound calls and emails to generate new business, managing the full sales cycle from initial contact to close.
- Lead comprehensive discovery calls and deliver compelling product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with Sales Development Representatives and Marketing to follow up on leads for pest control, lawn care, and HVAC companies.
- Attend relevant trade shows and industry events to network and generate leads, requiring travel around 2-4 times per quarter.
- Provide consultative sales expertise to identify client needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive measurable value.
- Maintain a robust pipeline and forecast accurately using Applause's CRM tools.
- Work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of B2B software sales experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales cycles, negotiate contracts, and close deals with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate value propositions and build trust with senior decision-makers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, with a willingness to take ownership and adapt.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the field services space (pest control, lawn care, HVAC, or other home services industries).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience with sales tools like Hubspot, Apollo, or LinkedIn.
- Experience selling to SMB technical service providers.
- Startup or high-growth company experience.
- A history of exceeding quota in a prospecting-focused role.
