Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain insurance summaries, binders, and certificates of insurance for new and renewing policies
- Conduct price comparisons and support renewal strategies with timely, accurate data
- Review lease agreements and contracts to assess insurance requirements and advise on coverage
- Manage endorsements, cancellations, and renewals, ensuring all documentation is processed efficiently
- Follow up on outstanding items with underwriters and clients, maintaining clear abeyance tracking
- Support specialized programs such as builder’s risk, wrap-up, and environmental liability policies
- Assist with premium financing setups and contribute to personal lines tasks when needed
- Collaborate with Account Executives to maintain client portfolios and meet service deadlines
- Enhance internal risk-assessment tools to support data-driven decision-making
- Respond to underwriter inquiries and coordinate departmental efforts during renewal cycles
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must be able to obtain a RIBO license within six months and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with commercial insurance products and construction-related coverage is highly valued.
- RIBO license (or commitment to obtain within 6 months)
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance, especially in construction, realty, and manufacturing
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- High accuracy in data entry and document preparation
Preferred Background
- CIP or CAIB designation
- One or more years of experience in a commercial insurance brokerage or carrier environment
- Familiarity with The Agency Manager (TAM), Compu-quote, or Epic (Broker Management System)
