At Merck & Co., Inc. (Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC) in Rahway, NJ, we are seeking an Associate Production Technician for our vaccine manufacturing team. This is a night shift position where you will perform hands-on processing activities, adhere to GMP standards, and collaborate in a team environment to meet critical production goals.
What You'll Do
- Work collaboratively with operations and support personnel to perform manual and automated processing of vaccine manufacturing equipment.
- Execute all documentation and clerical functions necessary for product accountability and traceability.
- Maintain, inventory, and transport required processing equipment, materials, supplies, and products.
- Operate various computer-controlled process equipment such as washers, autoclaves, vial fillers, lyophilizers, and capping/inspect machines.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and perform housekeeping in all work areas.
- Execute facility sanitization and decontamination according to approved procedures.
- Complete in-process testing and inspections supporting vaccine manufacturing, validation, and development processes.
- Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations, escalating to appropriate personnel.
- Schedule and perform environmental monitoring during processing and record results in the computerized database system.
- Actively participate in safety walkthroughs, 5S, kaizen events, and other operational or safety initiatives.
- Serve on safety, quality, and other committees as required.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to work a 12-hour night shift (6:00PM to 6:30AM) on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule, including alternating weekends and holidays.
- Ability to successfully pass an Aseptic gowning qualification.
- Willingness and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Willingness to be vaccinated or blood tested for titer for products manufactured within the facility if needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
- Demonstrated basic computer literacy (internet browsers, email, word processing).
Nice to Have
- A BioWorks Certificate or experience working in an FDA-regulated industry.
