CareHarmony is hiring a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the inpatient General Medical Service team at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. In this role, you will assist attending physicians in the medical management of patients, working within an integrated team that includes residents, medical students, and attendings.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with all teams in the admission of inpatients.
- Assist hospitalist and primary care attending physicians on daily patient rounds to monitor care and formulate treatment plans.
- Write daily progress notes.
- Implement attending physician instructions for patient management in close cooperation with nursing staff.
- Perform procedures within your scope of practice and as directed by the attending.
- Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing and other special examinations.
- Serve as a resource to the healthcare team for patient care issues.
- Collaborate with the care coordinator for all patient care referrals.
- Prepare succinct and accurate sign-out to facilitate smooth transition of patient care.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of discharging patients.
- Assist in the coordination of consultations with other sub-specialists.
- Provide education to patients and families.
- Document in the medical record and communicate observations with attending physicians.
- Monitor environment of care and comply with regulatory agency standards.
- Ensure clinical practice is consistent with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Participate in QA/QI projects as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
- For Physician Assistants: Successful completion of a Graduate Level, accredited Physician Assistant Program approved by AMA Board of Approval and Certification of PA programs.
- For Physician Assistants: 4 years of college level education and a baccalaureate degree or equivalent.
- Board Certification by the National Commission on Certification of PA/NPs.
- For APRNs: Completion of a master’s or post master’s degree in acute care, adult, or family NP program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC.
- For APRNs: Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or an equivalent body.
- For APRNs: Current active licensure to practice in the expanded role in the state of Massachusetts.
- License as a Physician Assistant in Massachusetts.
- Maintain current DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Licenses.
- NP must have current Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure/ Advanced Practice.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Obtain ACLS certification by end of probationary period.
- Complete BWFH Professionalism Program within 3 months of date of hire.
- Complete BWFH Procedural Sedation Training, if determined necessary.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning.
Nice to Have
- One year of relevant full-time experience as a PA/NP in this specialty.
- Other previous hands-on patient care experience may be considered at the discretion of the Medical Director.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $120,390.40 - $170,456.00 annually.
