Lever Foundation is a global non-profit that focuses on creating a more humane and sustainable protein supply chain in Asia and beyond. We work with large food companies and suppliers to secure commitments to more sustainable and higher-welfare practices. Our partners include leading food and beverage and hospitality companies such as Daesang, Homeplus, Shuttle, Accor, Marriot, Hyatt, Hilton and many others. In recent years, in response to increasing concern for sustainability and animal welfare, nearly a hundred food companies operating in Korea (and many more abroad) have set corporate policies to source only “cage-free” eggs, which are far more humane for animals and higher in food safety. Lever Foundation has helped secure policies on this topic and other food sustainability topics, such as sustainable protein and plant-based foods. from over 250 companies across Korea, East Asia, and beyond.
