Nature is looking for a ZCC Project Management Specialist to play a critical role in managing a portfolio of large-scale, complex projects spanning multiple geographies, teams, and business units. You will coordinate progress, execution, and goal achievement for initiatives under our Zero Conversion Commodities strategy, protecting the lands and waters upon which all life depends.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the point person for assembled project teams, collaboratively developing and implementing team management processes, work plans, and timelines.
- Coordinate project progress, execution, and achievements, developing plans, budgets, metrics, and schedules with team input.
- Critically assess project scope and objectives, ensuring all risks and dependencies are addressed.
- Obtain go/no-go decisions at project decision points from leadership and secure approval for deliverables.
- Monitor and measure project progress, raise execution concerns, help conduct corrective action, and communicate status to all stakeholders.
- Write donor narratives and report on project progress indicators, liaising with operations, contracts, finance, and project teams.
- Perform risk management, issue resolution, and conflict management, collaboratively solving complex problems.
- Develop and support project implementation following project management standards, policies, and donor requirements.
- Monitor, develop, and share internal and external reports on the progress of various strategic projects.
- Support technical staff using project management methods like adaptive management, iterative learning processes, and collaborative work.
- Organize and moderate virtual or in-person kick-off meetings.
- Ensure projects are managed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with donor or internal funding requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams toward desired outcomes aligned with the conservation strategy.
- Support the management of project budgets and assist in developing budgets for strategic projects.
- Manage several complex projects, including team management, deadline setting, and execution oversight.
- Write and submit narrative reports on project deliverables, liaising with teams during report development.
- Track grant spending and coordinate spending updates between finance and multiple teams.
- Make independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and context under minimal supervision.
- Actively follow and promote our Code of Conduct and values.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS, law, or business degree and 5 years of experience in project management, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Ability to work from a home office and with different time zones.
- Experience engaging and facilitating virtual meetings.
- Experience writing managerial reports.
- Experience managing complex projects following project management standards.
- Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Notion, Planner, or Mural.
- Ability to travel domestically in Brazil and internationally occasionally.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in Portuguese is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of other languages.
- Ability to manage and implement complex processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting guidelines and manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Certification in project management.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Scrum.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence, and persuade.
