People Inc. seeks a freelance YouTube Director/Producer to lead production for a weekly cooking show based in Birmingham, Alabama. You will be the YouTube expert responsible for producing high-performing content, growing the channel, and managing the full production lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Produce and direct two YouTube episodes per week, typically filmed in one day.
- Ensure timely release of two high-quality episodes weekly, plus engaging social media cutdowns.
- Contribute to episodic ideation and development, dedicating at least two days per week to creative planning with an algorithm-savvy mindset.
- Lead 1–2 days of in-studio production weekly.
- Oversee post-production workflows, approvals, and final delivery, ensuring each episode is fully optimized for YouTube.
- Work on-site in Birmingham, Alabama, for pre-production, filming, and post-production.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a YouTube Director/Producer.
- A deep understanding of the YouTube platform, including algorithm behavior, SEO, metadata, publishing strategies, and audience development.
- Proven track record of growing YouTube channels and creating high-performing video content.
- Strong background in social video and food media; familiarity with culinary language and on-camera food styling.
Nice to Have
- Experience ideally in the food or lifestyle space.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position requiring work at the Birmingham DDM Office in Birmingham, Alabama.
