Flowers Foods is hiring a Production Operator IV (Wrap Operator) to contribute to our team-oriented production process. In this role, you will operate automated production equipment, diagnose machinery failures, aid in preventative maintenance, and ensure product safety and quality. You will also master the use of Enterprise software for data input and reporting while helping maintain a safe work environment.
What You'll Do
- Check and adhere to the production work schedule for job assignments and work reporting times.
- Operate facility metal detector(s); must be fully trained and certified.
- Set up equipment following all established procedures, specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Ensure a continuous, efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment.
- Verify product quality meets required standards throughout operation and make necessary equipment adjustments.
- Remove defective product and ensure only compliant product moves forward in the process.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all sanitation requirements.
- Complete required documentation and system entries accurately and on time.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and fellow technicians.
- Act as a member of a highly functioning team and move to all production areas to set gauges, dials, guides, and rulers.
- Comply with work rules, safety rules, and GMPs.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair).
- Equivalent military training, other related technical training, or successful completion of at least 45 college credit hours may be substituted for technical training.
- A technical certification course may include the completion of the AIB 'Science of Baking' course.
- Ability to master the use of Enterprise software including data input, retrieval, and reporting.
- Demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities affecting product safety, legality and/or quality.
Nice to Have
- Two (2) or more years of related experience.
