Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Team Lead to supervise the operation of multiple teams of examiners and technical staff. In this role, you will monitor workloads, provide technical and jurisdictional direction on claims adjudication, and support the team's professional growth.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and process workers compensation claims through action plans to reach timely resolution.
- Investigate and gather information to determine exposure and negotiate settlements within your authority.
- Communicate claim activity and processing with claimants and clients clearly and professionally.
- Report claims to excess carriers and respond to direction requests in a timely manner.
- Administer company personnel policies and follow staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Interview, hire, and establish colleague performance development plans, conducting performance discussions.
- Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum team performance.
What We're Looking For
- 5-7 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Jurisdictional knowledge of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional certification relevant to the line of business.
