ShiftCare is hiring a WordPress Developer & Web Project Manager

About the Role

ShiftCare is looking for a WordPress Developer & Web Project Manager to lead the end-to-end migration of our current static site to a scalable, high-performing WordPress site. You will own both the technical development and project delivery of the website rebuild, and stay on as the owner of the site’s ongoing performance, publishing, and improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical rebuild of shiftcare.com using WordPress.
  • Migrate the existing static site with full SEO preservation (URLs, metadata, redirects).
  • Translate Figma designs into responsive, performant, mobile-friendly pages.
  • Implement and configure CMS components, plugins, and integrations (Hotjar, GA4).
  • Build reusable templates for blog, landing pages, and product content.
  • Integrate with tracking, CRM and analytics systems including: Google Tag Manager, GA4 & HubSpot.
  • Set up technical SEO, schema, and structured data as part of the migration plan.
  • Own the rebuild timeline, milestones, and delivery roadmap.
  • Coordinate design, content, SEO, and marketing feedback through structured workflows.
  • Track bugs, issues, and UAT feedback using project tools (e.g., Asana, Notion).
  • Provide weekly updates to the Head of Marketing with clear progress and blockers.
  • Maintain and update WordPress content, visuals, and CMS components post-launch.
  • Monitor site performance (Core Web Vitals), SEO rankings, and uptime.
  • Implement and track A/B tests and user behaviour tools (e.g., Hotjar).
  • Manage backups, plugin updates, security and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously improve page performance, structure, and publishing flexibility.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years WordPress development experience (custom themes, back-end logic, plugin use).
  • Proven experience managing high-traffic, content-rich websites.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead full-site migrations, especially from static/custom systems to WordPress.
  • Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Back-end experience with PHP, MySQL, and WordPress architecture.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices (sitemaps, redirects, canonical tags, schema).
  • Experience with Core Web Vitals, GA4, Hotjar, and performance optimisation tools.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including familiarity with tools like Asana, Notion, Trello, or similar.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with websites having 200k monthly active sessions per region, and 350+ pages of indexed or active content.
