Wondr Health Careers is looking for a Data Engineer to join our data team. You will build and operate real-time, event-driven data solutions using modern cloud-native tools. Collaborating cross-functionally, you will design and implement scalable data pipelines and architecture using AWS Glue, Redshift, dbt, and Python.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and performant data pipelines using AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3, etc.), dbt, and Python.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, and Executive teams to understand data needs and deliver trusted solutions.
- Model and transform raw data into clean, testable dbt datasets for analytics and reporting.
- Build and maintain an AWS-based data lake and Redshift-based data warehouse infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities to enable non-technical teams to achieve their respective business objectives using data.
- Develop and maintain automated data quality and testing frameworks.
- Implement event-driven architectures and near real-time processing pipelines.
- Optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Ensure proper documentation of data models, data flows, and business logic.
- Advocate for data engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, modular design).
- Maintain data security and compliance with HIPAA and internal policies.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficient in Python for data transformation and scripting.
- Strong experience with SQL, especially within Redshift or similar MPP databases.
- Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformation and modeling.
- Expertise with AWS services including Glue, Lambda, S3, and Step Functions.
- Experience building ELT pipelines and event-driven data architectures.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and automated testing frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Self-starter who can handle several work items independently.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and technology tools.
- Results-driven and detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of relational and NoSQL database theory and practice.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must be knowledgeable of and comply with Wondr Health’s Client.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, analytics, information systems or a related field.
