Role Overview
As a Wastewater Treatment Plant Technician, you will oversee the daily function of wastewater treatment systems, ensuring all operations meet environmental compliance and safety requirements. Your work directly supports sustainable manufacturing practices by maintaining water quality and system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate SCADA control systems, mechanical, and electrical equipment essential to wastewater processing
- Conduct routine facility inspections and document readings from gauges, charts, and sensors
- Collect and analyze wastewater and sludge samples using field and laboratory methods
- Interpret analytical data to adjust system performance and optimize treatment processes
- Perform minor equipment maintenance and support repair coordination when needed
- Follow Lean Manufacturing principles and adhere to GMPs, SOPs, and SSOPs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Support a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with team members across locations to resolve operational issues
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, safety, and process reliability
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions clearly
- Proficiency with computers and data recording systems
- Familiarity with physical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment processes
- Experience operating anaerobic digestion and sludge dewatering systems
- Knowledge of sampling techniques, laboratory analysis, and process control
- Understanding of hydraulics and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting skills
- Capable of safely handling hazardous chemicals and operating industrial equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a plant environment

Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite position in a manufacturing plant setting. The role involves regular physical activity, including walking, standing, and occasional travel (up to 10%). Technicians must be prepared to work in varying conditions and follow strict safety and sanitation protocols.
