Volvo Group is looking for a VP Testing & Deputy Head of Technical Center to establish world-class vehicle and component test capabilities in line with international standards. You will guide the development of verification and validation plans that directly support our strategic product development and our commitment to shaping the future of efficient, safe, and sustainable transport solutions.
What You'll Do
- Guide the establishment of verification and validation test plans to support strategic product development.
- Plan vehicle and component testing capabilities, including test equipment, methods, and techniques, to meet global standards and secure test completion.
- Improve the vehicle test process.
- Improve the component assembly test process.
- Improve reliability verification and validation test capability, focusing on test methods setup and improvement.
- Improve durability verification and validation test capability, focusing on test codes and test equipment.
- Improve drivability and fuel economy verification and validation test capability, focusing on test methods, technologies, and equipment.
- Improve safety verification and validation test capability, focusing on test methods, technologies, and equipment.
- Improve ride comfort verification and validation test capability, focusing on test methods, technologies, and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- A university degree in engineering or equivalent education level.
- Test experience with complete truck development, including familiarity with relevant test methods, technologies, and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional, cross-cultural communication skills.
- The ability to formulate corresponding test processes and methods based on the characteristics of domestic commercial vehicle consumers.
- Fluent communication skills in English, both written and oral.
Nice to Have
- Experience within Volvo commercial vehicle durability, reliability, drivability, fuel economy, safety, and ride comfort testing and analysis.
- Familiarity with the Volvo commercial vehicle test development process.
- Familiarity with the release procedures for new energy and intelligent driving tests.
- Project management skills and knowledge.
- Proficiency in Mandarin.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position based in Wuhan, Hubei, China.
