This role involves designing, executing, and documenting enterprise-level test plans for application packaging, system configuration updates, automation, and integration across large-scale Department of Defense environments. The position supports Enterprise Management (EM) development, testing, and release validation within the Military Health System.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement comprehensive test strategies for EM releases, configuration changes, software packages, and automated processes at the enterprise level.
- Carry out integration, regression, compatibility, and functional validation testing across multiple system environments for EM capabilities.
- Build and maintain automated test scripts, tools, and validation frameworks using PowerShell or equivalent technologies to support EM release cycles.
- Assess vendor updates, EM improvements, and release candidates for operational stability, regulatory compliance, and deployment readiness.
- Conduct root cause investigations for system defects, monitor resolution progress, and work with engineering teams to resolve critical issues.
- Support release approval processes by preparing test evidence, participating in readiness reviews, and coordinating with packaging and configuration teams.
- Engage in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities and deliver technical evaluations of proposed EM-related system changes.
- Generate detailed reports, test records, validation outcomes, standard operating procedures, and system architecture diagrams.
- Work closely with Systems Administration, Information Assurance Security, Architecture, and Enterprise Services teams to ensure end-to-end testing coverage.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support enterprise validation and modernization efforts.
Requirements
- Active Secret security clearance is required.
- Possession of Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate certification or higher.
- Compliance with DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT-II requirements, including relevant certifications such as Security+, SSCP, or GSEC.
- Proven experience in developing and executing system-level test plans for enterprise services in large-scale environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Management (EM) operations, including software packaging, configuration management, release sequencing, and automation.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting and developing automated validation frameworks or comparable test automation solutions.
- Extensive understanding of Windows enterprise infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and inter-system service dependencies.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense cybersecurity standards such as RMF and DISA STIG compliance.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex integration issues and multi-tier service interactions.
- Strong capabilities in technical writing, documentation, analysis, and reporting.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting IT modernization projects in DoD or large federal government environments.
- Understanding of release engineering practices, Dev/Test automation, and CI/CD pipeline principles.
- Proven background in validating enterprise software packages, configuration baselines, and system integrations.
- Knowledge of enterprise monitoring, logging, and reporting systems.
- Ability to present technical findings and risk analyses to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance automation, efficiency, and consistency in validation workflows.
- Experience with secure cloud design patterns in Azure, including identity management, access controls, network segmentation, and monitoring.
